Revd Canon David Banbury is Vicar of St John the Baptist. He is married to Kathryn and they have two grown up, married children. Having had no contact with the Christian faith in his childhood or youth, David came to faith aged 19 after getting to know a kind, caring and supportive Christian family.

David is passionate about giving people the opportunity to discover the adventure of following Jesus.

Over the last few years David turned his hand to a range of activities, including playing American Football for Yorkshire, serving 12 years in the British Army, writing plays, running marathons, repairing classic cars and suffering for many years as a supporter of Sunderland Football Club. David and Kathy like trips out, drinking tea and eating cake.
