Meet the team at St John the Baptist
St Johns staff team is made up of some wonderful people of faith who have a wide variety of skills, experience, and diverse backgrounds. They work closely together to further the work of the church and help manage a multitude of services, events, youth & children’s work, pastoral care and much more; whilst remaining focused on the vision statement of knowing, growing in and sharing Jesus’ love in Burscough and beyond.
STAFFING UPDATE – VACANCY FOR VICAR
The role of vicar of St John the Baptist Burscough is currently in vacancy.
Our previous vicar Revd Canon David Banbury has accepted a role working with Liverpool Diocese on the Fit for Mission initiative, starting February 2024. We are grateful that David is continuing to work with us in the role of associate curate, until 14th January 2024, which will be his last Sunday with us. We thank David and Kathy for their faithful service to our church over the last few years and wish them well on their next adventure with Christ. All are welcome to join us on the 14th to say farewell.
Over the past few weeks, the PCC has worked hard to distil the essence of what it’s like here at St John’s and St Andrew’s Crabtree, and we have produced our new Parish Profile, which we are very proud of. This document should help prospective vicars understand who we are and what we do. Just click the link below to view it and please share this far and wide, so that we can reach anyone and everyone who God might choose to join us and lead us in the next phase for our church.

We believe that we are called to love and serve God with the whole of our lives.
Whether we are at work, school, college, home, or at play we can enjoy being called to love Jesus, love one another, and serve in Jesus’ name.
