On the last night of October
There was plenty of noise
From children and adults
With not much poise
The theme was God’s light
And how we can all share
The brightness and hope
That comes with his care
Glitter and sparkles
Marbles and sweets
Lighthouse and candles
Crafting for treats
Where light reigns supreme
Darkness cannot live
A light party’s the way
To show what we can give
Tracey is the brains
The brawn and the fun
A blue wig and orange tutu
To cover her bum
The light night at SJB was attended by about 30 children and 15 (very enthusiastic) leaders. There were crafts, games and activities galore, from design a mask competition, to modelling clay candle holders, glittery wands, balancing tangerines, apple bobbing and breadstick candles.
The aim of the night was to show that light wins over dark; we don’t need Halloween, but rather we celebrate Jesus being the light of the world and how we can shine like stars for him. The evening was well received by not only the children attending, but also the leaders and the parents.
Big thanks go to Tracey and the team for an enjoyable evening; we are still finding glitter in our hair!!!
