As an adult there are a number of events you can attend!
There are lots of things that adults can get involved with at St John’s from Bible study, prayer and support groups, to volunteer roles and fun social events.
Adults in Burscough (and beyond) are welcome to come along to any of our events and activities.
A few of the regular groups we run are highlighted below, but there are lots of one-off events too, so always keep an eye on our events calendar to see what is coming up!
Small Groups
We have a number of small groups that meet on different days/evenings in the week, for Bible study, prayer and good company. These meetings bring an opportunity for people to connect and build relationship with others from church as they explore faith together, as well as deepening their relationship with God.
If you would like to join a small group, or would simply like to find out more, please get in touch.

Bible Craft

If you like to doodle, sketch, colour, paint or craft in other ways to explore faith in a creative way, then this Bible Craft group is just for you!
We meet on the 3rd Thursday each month with brews and cake from 7.15pm and the session starting at 7.30pm.
All are welcome – no experience necessary at all, we are just a group that aims to have a relaxing and fun time with Scripture. This is not a Bible study but more an exploration and experimentation with some Bible Craft techniques and perhaps a chance to let God speak to you through His Word.
Prayer Connect
A prayer group who faithfully meet each Monday evening and Thursday morning, to pray together and wait on God. All are welcome to come and join us!
Aim is to: Connect with God.
Why do we meet?: We meet because we want to know the Lord, to know Him, to be led by Him and to know His will for our lives and the church.
What we do?: We seek the Lord and draw near to Him, in prayer, in praise, in song Psalm 100). We also spend time listening and in His goodness the Lord has drawn near to us.
What is praying?: You could say it is two-way communication with God, whether in silence, in song, in speaking and in listening. God is able to communicate with us in a variety of ways.
Who is it for?: It is for those who want to know the Lord more, and have a desire for God to transform the area, themselves and those they love.
Do I have to pray out loud?: Not if you don’t want to, just come as you are.
Are there any key bible verses that the Lord has shared?: A couple, or favourites would have to be Hebrews 11:6(b) – Those who comes to God must believe He exists and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Another is Amos 5:4 – Seek me and live [says the Lord].
So do I have to have loads of faith to come along?: Whether you have a lot of faith or a little, come and join us. What have you got to lose?
Please contact the church office if you would like more information.
