We are so glad to see our amazing children back in school, enjoying learning and being back with their friends and teachers. The children have settled into their new classes, and we have welcomed our new reception starters who have made a great start to their time at St. John’s.

Year 6 have taken on a lot of extra responsibilities, including setting up equipment throughout the school day, helping the younger children at break times and acting as role models, demonstrating the behaviours we want to see at St. John’s.

We have planted, built, installed, and created a range of different features that enrich our Forest School experience including different habitat zones that are designed to attract a wide variety of wildlife to our site, a permanent fire pit area and a chicken coop. So far this the year, the children have been cooking on the fire pit, den building, nature spotting, creating clay tiles, setting up experiments, playing team games, tree climbing, planting and looking after our allotment beds, orienteering, and getting muddy!

We have also hit the ground running with our sporting participation and achievements since coming back to school. As well as completing our daily mile run, Year 5 and 6 have shone in our Bee-Stingers (High 5) and Football competitions, which they have relished taking part in.

Overall, a great start to the new academic year!
